St. John’s – Newfoundland – Vulcan Minerals Inc. (“the Company” TSX-V: VUL) announces that at its upcoming annual meeting of shareholders on June 15, 2007, a change in directors is proposed. Dr. Rex Gibbons is nominated as a new director. Dr. Gibbons recently retired as Senior Vice-President of Jacques Whitford Group based in St. John’s Newfoundland. He is a former Minister of Mines and Energy for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador (1989-1997) and was instrumental in ensuring that modern petroleum regulations were put in place to encourage exploration in Western Newfoundland. He holds a Ph.D in Geology from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) and has received many academic and industry awards throughout his career. Dr. Gibbons has a rare blend of experience both in petroleum exploration and development as well as mineral exploration and development. This fits well with the company’s current projects.

Board Members Chan Chau Tam and Brian Sondergaard are stepping down as directors at the annual general meeting. Mr. Tam was an original founding shareholder and director of the company and has made a significant contribution to the company since its inception. The company extends its thanks and best wishes to him in his retirement. Mr. Sondergaard has contributed to the company over the last two years as an independent director with technical expertise. The company expresses its sincere gratitude for his contribution.
